Why TD?
It stands for Tommy's Dad. Tommy was our first the age child and he was amazing. Beth and I lost our boy to SUDC, we do our best to honor his memory every day.
About Tommy:
Tommy was a happy, beautiful and wonderful little boy. In May 2008, at the age of 2, Tommy went to sleep and never woke up. We still do not know why. Since Tommy was over the age of one year; his passing is not considered Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Instead, it belongs to a lesser-known category, Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) that occurs when a healthy child beyond the age of 12 months dies without warning and without a known cause found after a thorough investigation.
The SUDC Foundation is dedicated to increasing the awareness of sudden unexpected deaths in childhood, and funding crucial research to better understand and prevent these tragedies. It is the only organization worldwide devoted solely to the needs of families and professionals touched by unexpected/unexplained deaths of children.
